nor-east Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization that will never harm or push down an animal. It has been a no-kill nurture since 1976. It depends on the donations from citizenry in the community. The nourish is open seven days a week in Salem, Massachusetts. This makes it very easy for people to go into the shelter to take the perfect animal for them. The shelter has recently moved into a new building not too far up the street from where they originally were. The Northeast Animal Shelter has many computer programs which benefit many people and animals. One of these programs that they argon most proud of is called Puppies across the States. This way, many families are able to adopt a puppy.
Another program the shelter provides is an elderly visitation program. In this program, elderly people in Nursing Homes are brought dogs that are carefully screened to visit them. These puppies and dogs are very friendly and gentle and are able to deal with hospital equipment such as IV’s and wheelchairs. Volunteers guide these animals to visit the elderly. The elderly people sometimes remember pets they had or just can’t resist the cute faces of the animals. It brings them joy. Also, children’s birthday parties are held at the Northeast Animal Shelter.
