MAJOR CHARACTERS
daybed
daybed is our main character. He is a 33 year old man on remnant run-in for the murder of Elizabeth and Kurt Nealon. He was sentenced to execution by lethal injection. The concur then goes on and claims he is the messiah because random coincidences nonice when he reaches the state prison. One example is his cell mate, Lucius, who had AIDs. one-third days later of Shay being in the prison, miraculously, Lucius was cured. Of course, at one time the media got their hands on this, religious people from all all over Concord, brand-new Hampshire, came to the front of the prison claiming he was the messiah. In the dying chapters of the make, we find out that Shay has been keeping a secret. He was taking the blame for the murders and never said anything in court. But, rather of telling his lawyer; the only thing he inadequacys is to support his heart to Elizabeths little sister, Claire Nealon, who is in very require of a heart transplant.
Michael
Michael first starts off in the book as a college freshmen sentenced to jury duty for the case of Shay Borne. He was the last of the jury members to plead yes to the death penalty. football team years later, Michael is a co-priest at St. Catherine Church in Concord, New Hampshire. Coincidently, the state prison calls him and asks him if hed be Shay Bournes spiritual advisor.



Of course, Michael thinks this is a sign from perfection telling him he was relieved from his sins for sending Shay to death; he says yes. Michael swears to not tell Shay what part he had in his past once they started getting close. However, later on in the book, Shay finds out and doesnt want to butt against Michael ever again. Then Shay has a seizure so Shay makes an exception and wants to see him once again out front his execution.
