I grew up in Guyana; although we speak English I halt been told that I have a very thick accent.

People tend to be distrustful of anything they are non accustomed to sticking to what they know and have a tendency to believe strongly to what they are accustomed to.

Some may be of the perception that they would not be taken seriously as any somewhat other employee because with their accent they reveled as foreign and maybe I perceived not as educated. Remember in most instances perception is reality.

People pay more attention to somebody that speaks like them as hostile to someone with an accent maybe because to them they are an uncharted--- they tend to be dismissive until one can prove to them that what you have to cite is worth their while to listen to them.

People need to be more to be more open minded especially in this multicultural society.
